FOUR JADE CARVINGS

MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

The first is a bi disc modelled as an archaistic coiled dragon with scrolling decoration, stylised feathers and raised nodes. The second is a sword-slide pierced with a sinuous chilong with bifurcated tail. The third and fourth are two seals one of which is surmounted by a recumbent mythical beast. All are of a celadon and dark grey tone with mottled brown inclusions.

The largest 4¾ in. (12 cm.) diam.
