An early 17th Century Nuremberg gilt brass and copper casket attributed to the Michael Mann
(active Augsburg/Nuremberg died circa 1630), the lid engraved with figures in period costume, the body with further engraved detail of scrolling tulips, false lock plate to the front, keyhole concealed beneath sliding plaque, complex lock mechanism, complete with key, 5.5 x 10.5cm Condition report: The has been slightly forced in the past so the lid "smiles" slightly. Scratching to the lid and signs of copper bleeding through on lid and base. Wear commensurate with age but generally very good.
