Pocket watch: extremely rare gold/enamel verge watch with diamonds, repeater and chatelaine, ca. 1770: Ca. Ø43mm, approx. 68g, 18K pink gold/green gold, back with "Starry Sky" motif, stars in the shape of diamonds on blue engine turned enamel, multicoloured paillone rim, a narrow white enamel rim on the very outside, the entire face is set with diamonds, both opening knobs and pendant are also set with large diamonds, bell, signed verge movement Terrot & Archard Geneve, repeating the hours and quarters on bell, movement number 4741, signed original enamel dial, original silver hands, also set with diamonds. Comes with a decorative gold/enamel chatelaine, approx. 16cm long. The unique enamel case of the watch is mostly in original condition. There are only minor imperfections around the edge of the paillone rim/white rim. The movement starts ticking but needs cleaning. The repeating mechanism works, but should be adjusted to improve the sound. Philippe Terrot was one of the most important Geneva makers of the 18th century. Gold/enamel verge watches with real diamonds are extremely rare, mostly imitations of diamonds were used. Comparable watches can be found for example in the Hermitage collection. Another example with diamond setting and repeater is known from the same manufacturer. The watch was sold in Geneva for more than 23,000 Swiss Francs (https://www.cortrie.de/go/OWx). Taschenuhr: extrem seltene Gold/Emaille-Spindeluhr mit Diamantbesatz, Repetition und Chatelaine, ca. 1770: Ca. Ø43mm, ca. 68g, 18K Rotgold/Grüngold, rückseitig Motiv "Sternenhimmel", Sterne in Form von Diamanten auf blauer Guilloche-Emaille, mehrfarbiger Paillone-Rand, ganz außen ein schmaler weißer Emaillerand, schauseitig ist der gesamte Rand mit Diamanten besetzt, beide Öffnungsknöpfe und Pendant sind ebenfalls mit großen Diamanten besetzt, Glocke, signiertes Spindelwerk Terrot & Archard Geneve, Repetition der Stunden und Viertelstunden auf Glocke, Werksnummer 4741, originales, signiertes Emaillezifferblatt, originale Zeiger aus Silber, ebenfalls besetzt mit Diamanten. Dazu gehört eine dekorative Gold/Emaille-Chatelaine, ca. 16cm lang. Das einzigartige Emailllegehäuse der Uhr ist überwiegend im Originalzustand. Lediglich im Randbereich des Paillone-Randes/weißen Randes sind kleine Mängel. Das Werk läuft an, braucht aber eine Reinigung. Das Schlagwerk funktioniert, sollte aber eingestellt werden, um den Klang zu optimieren. Philippe Terrot war einer der bedeutendsten Genfer Hersteller des 18. Jahrhunderts. Gold/Emaille-Spindeluhren mit echtem Diamantbesatz sind extrem selten, meistens waren es Imitate von Diamanten, die verwendet wurden. Vergleichbare Uhren findet man zum Beispiel in der Sammlung der Hermitage. Vom gleichen Hersteller ist ein weiteres Exemplar mit Diamantbesatz und Repetition bekannt.
