SICILY. Leontini. Circa 450-440 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.74 g, 4 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ∠Ε-ΟΝ-ΤΙ-ΝΟ-Ν Head of a lion with open jaws to right; around, four barley grains. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 38. Attractive, clear and sharp, with a dark patina as found. Some striking flatness on both sides, otherwise, extremely fine.
