An Augsburg silver gilt goblet
Round lobed base supporting a slender shaft with a central openwork nodus with three small pendants. The tapering cup with repoussé lobes to resemble a bunch of grapes. The lid with corresponding decor and a large scroll finial. H 28 cm, weight 182 g.
Marked "I.M.", presumably the mark of Johannes I Mayr, 1634/35.

Silber; vergoldet. Runder, sechsfach gebuckelter Fuß und schlanker Röhrenschaft; der àjour gearbeitete Nodus mit drei kleinen Pendilien. Die konische Kuppa mit getriebenen Traubenbuckeln in drei versetzten Reihen; der aufgewölbte Deckel entsprechend; mit einem großen Schmeck als Bekrönung. Marken: BZ Augsburg für 1634 - 1635, MZ I.M, wohl Johannes I Mayr (um 1630 - 1687, vgl. Seling Nr. 0450, 1449), Tremolierstich. Französische Repunzierung (Tardy S. 210). H 28 cm, Gewicht 182 g.
