Mauritius Government of Mauritius 25 Rupees ND (1954) Pick 29 PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. The 25 Rupees was the highest denomination of the 1954 series typically seen in circulation. Nevertheless, it had a small print total over its lifespan and is rarely seen today. The Standard Catalog does this series a disservice by not accentuating the signature varieties that better identify notes within the series. For accuracy sake, this note is the third and final variety for the type, featuring the signatures of James Dennis Greig and Francis Blackburn. It was issued in 1964 and circulated until the new series was issued in 1967 or thereabouts. Gem qualities are easily seen through the third party holder. A classic Commonwealth rarity, especially in high grade, and sought by collectors worldwide.
