Republic gold Counterstamped Escudo ND (1849-1857) AU55 NGC, San Jose mint, KM84, Stickney-C431. Displaying Type VII round lion counterstamp with legend HABILITADA PO EL GOBIERNO (AU Standard) on the obverse and reverse of a Central American Republic Escudo 1847 CR-JB (cf. KM14). Exhibiting a lovely amber tone over watery golden surfaces. Mislabeled on the holder as a Type VI countermark.
