BASIL II with CONSTANTINE VIII, 976-1025. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.45 gms), Constantinople Mint. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Wavy Flan.
S-1795. Obverse: Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; Reverse: Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing loros, and Constantine, draped, holding between them a patriarchal cross. Despite the noted minor flan waviness, this example otherwise offers a great strike with very little evidence of any handling.
