INRÔ WITH REISHI FUNGUS AND BAT.
Japan. 19th c. After a design by Sakai Hôitsu (1761-1828).

On roiro-nuri ground gold takamaki-e and inlays of aogai and pewter. Flying bat over a group of Reishi mushrooms. On the other side a deer in rear view. Inscription in gold 'Hôitsu hitsu'. The famous Rimpa painter Sakai Hôitsu created many designs for lacquer artists, which were used like here in an Inrô. Five-part. Height 8.7cm. Netsuke: Lying Shika deer. 19th c. Wood. W. 4.4cm. Auf roiro-nuri-Grund Gold-takamaki-e und Einlagen aus aogai und Zinn. Fliegende Fledermaus über einer Gruppe von Reishi-Pilzen. Auf der anderen Seite ein Hirsch in Rückenansicht. Inschrift in Gold 'Hôitsu hitsu'. Der berühmte Rimpa-Maler Sakai Hôitsu kreierte viele Entwürfe für Lackkünstler, die wie hier in einem Inrô umgesetzt wurden. Fünfteilig. Höhe 8,7cm. Netsuke: Liegender Shika-Hirsch. 19. Jh. Holz. B. 4,4cm. Zustand A/B.
