A large and unusual Korean stoneware Maebyeong, Goryeo Dynasty, circa 14th century, of inverted baluster shape, with grey glaze painted with stylised fleur-de-lys or flame like and cloud motifs in white and black, 33cm high Provenance: Major Edward Copleston Radcliffe (1898-1967) collection, 'A30', listed in the family archive , 'A30', as purchased from Sotheby's in 1946 for £19-0s-0d, but listed in the Bluett archive as purchased Sotheby's January 23rd, 1947, from the collection of E.L.
