OSVALDO BORSANI (ITALIAN 1911-1985) (ATTRIBUTED TO) PAIR OF ANDIRONS, DESIGNED CIRCA 1946 iron and brass (each 20.3cm high, 37cm wide (8in high, 14 1/2in wide)) Footnote: Provenance: A Private European Collection of Design Literature: G. Bosoni, Osvaldo Borsani architetto, designer, imprenditore, Milan, 2018, p. 223 (examples illustrated in Borsani's villa in Varedo). Borsani used firedogs of this design in two projects. The first was in his own villa in Varedo (1943-45), where he positioned them in the grand ceramic fireplace by Lucio Fontana (1948), and the other was Casa Casò (1947-48), an apartment in Milan.
