A pair of finely modelled Guardian Kings (tianwang). Tang dynasty (618-907)
Both with ferocious expression, wearing a bird-crowned helmet and trampling a demon. The armour is richly decorated in relief, with horned mythical creatures on the shoulders and two rosettes on the breastplate. One arm is raised, the other resting on the bent thigh. Greyish earthenware with remnants of polychrome pigments on a white ground. Rest.

Paar fein modellierter Wächterkönige (tianwang). Tang-Zeit (618-907)
Beide mit grimmigem Gesichtsausdruck, mit einem Vogel-bekrönten Helm einen Dämon zertrampelnd. Die Rüstung ist reich in Relief verziert, an den Schultern gehörnte Fabelwesen, auf dem Brustpanzer zwei Rosetten. Jeweils ein Arm ist angehoben, der andere auf den angewinkelten Oberschenkel gestützt. Gräuliche Irdenware mit Resten polychromer Bemalung auf weißer Grundierung. Rest.
